Mark Simon

Producer/Director/Story Artist

Mark Simon counts more than 30 years experience working in the entertainment industry as a producer and director for live action and animation, writing and lecturing, and amassing over 5,000 production credits.

Mark recently produced the animation for Universal’s How High 2, Universal’s Little Rascals Save The Day and Fox’s film Tooth Fairy 2, starring Larry the Cable Guy. Timmy’s Lessons In Nature, the animated shorts which Mark Simon developed, directed and produced, won Grand Prize in Nickelodeon’s first-ever Nicktoons Film Festival. He is head of story on Warner Bros. and Alcon’s feature Hong Kong Phooey starring Eddie Murphy.

Mark has pitched and sold more than 40 production and distribution deals for his original concepts, and worked with Disney, Nickelodeon, The Golf Channel, HSN and other networks pitching in-house productions.

Mark is known as the Godfather of Storyboarding because of how he has advanced the art form. His Storyboards & Animatics, Inc. company, the largest supplier in the Southern U.S., provides storyboards, illustrations, cartoons and storyboard comic book illustration to the entertainment and publishing industries, including clients such as The Walking Dead, Disney, Universal, Viacom, Sony, HBO, Nickelodeon, FOX, Steven Spielberg, USA Networks, ABC Television and many others.

In 2012, Mark won a Prime Time Engineering Emmy for the Storyboard Pro software as a part of the Toon Boom software team.

A&S Animation, Inc., Mark is an animation consultant development expert and production house, has produced animated animations for feature films, TV pilots, commercials, shorts for iconic Disney characters and won more than 200 international awards.

As the co-founder of Sell Your TV Concept Now, Mark has taught thousands of people how to develop, package and pitch their TV properties. Their clients include industry first-timers as well as 2-time Emmy-winning producer of Discovery’s Deadliest Catch, Doug Stanley.

Mark is also the author of ten popular entertainment industry texts such as Producing Independent 2D Character Animation and Storyboards: Motion In Art, has written for industry magazines such as Cinefex, Film Maker Magazine, Movie Maker Magazine, Animation Today (India) and writes a regular column for Animation World Network at
